Our Berry Merry Mojito is our new Christmas Cocktail. It is filled with those traditional mojito flavors that you love, but more festive.
Many people shy away from Mojitos because they are very sweet. Although we do add sugar to our Berry Merry Mojitos, a lot of the sweetness comes from the fruit. Which keeps the cocktail balanced and a light. The berries are muddled together with the sugar and limes for a very colorful and tasty base.
For this Berry Merry Mojito we are using a mixture of strawberries, blackberries and blueberries as our base. We don’t use raspberries because their seeds would over-power each sip. You can use fresh or frozen.
If you want to make it ahead, you can add the rum and let it all sit in a pitcher. Just be sure not to add the lime sparkling water until you are ready to serve or it will fizzle out. Once it’s ready to serve, pour over ice. If you don’t want to run the risk of the drink watering down with ice, you can use more of the frozen berries to keep it cold in each glass.
Even though it is a mojito, you can use whatever alcohol you prefer. Substitute the rum for tequila, vodka or gin for an equally delicious drink.
