We came up with this chocolate sauce with our Donut Bread Pudding in mind. However, we would encourage you to drizzle it over our Rum Cake, Galletitas de Moron, Tarta de Santiago or a scoop of ice cream. It’s chocolate. It pairs well with everything.
We like combining semi-sweet and dark chocolate, but as we’ve said before – use what you like and use what you have.
The chocolate sauce comes together in about 3 minutes. It’s dangerously easy.

8 oz good quality chocolate chips (semi sweet or dark or a combo of both)
Pinch of salt
1 ½ teaspoons of vanilla
Directions
- Place the chocolate, salt and vanilla in a bowl.
- Heat the heavy whipping cream in a small pot or microwave until it is just simmering.
Whisk the hot cream into the chocolate until totally combined. - If it sits at room temperature or in the fridge it will thicken, but you can warm it in the microwave to loosen it again.
