Avocado Crema

Avocado Crema is made from ripe avocados transformed into a luscious sauce with the help of citrusy lime and fresh herbs. You can use a food processor but it’s best in a high speed blender to whip a lot of air into it and make sure everything is creamy and airy.

Avocado crema is a dairy free sauce and perfect for drizzling on tacos or enchiladas before serving, but we also love it as a dip for veggies and shrimp. If you thin it out with more lime juice it can even be a salad dressing.

Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe Florida avocado (or 2 haas avocados) 

  • Juice of 1 lime 

  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped 

  • 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped cilantro

  • 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped parsley  

  • Salt and freshly cracked pepper 

  • 1- 3 tablespoons of water

Directions

  • In a blender add the garlic clove, oil, lime juice, parsley, cilantro. Blend until everything is chopped finely. Scrape the sides of the blender. 
  • Add the avocado, blend until smooth and until everything is incorporated. If it’s too thick add a couple tablespoons of water. Blend again.
