Black beans are such a great thing to have in your pantry. They have a long shelf life and they are very versatile and can be used for so many different things.

Things you can use a can of Black Beans to make: can use them to make traditional Black Beans, a quick Weeknight Congri, throw it in a salad, OUR Black Bean Chili, taco night and of course this delightful quick little dip we have for you today.

Who Doesn’t Love Dip?

The truth of the matter is, everyone loves a good dip. When you go to a party, you can’t help but peruse the snack table, and get a little overly excited about a new dip you have never tried. This could be that dip for you to pleasantly surprise your guests with. The best part, it’s just so easy to do.

This dip is light and fresh, and goes perfectly with any chip. It’s a nice break from the usual thing you would find at a BBQ or gathering.

What you need to make the dip? A can of black beans, lime, orange, garlic and a few other ingredients. Serve it up with some mariquitas (think Chifle) or a crudite of veggies and you’re good to go.

Ingredients

  • 2 15 oz cans of black beans, rinsed and drained very well (we like Kirby) 

  • Zest of 1 lime 

  • Zest of 1 orange 

  • 2.5 tablespoons of lime juice (1 1/2 limes)

  • 2.5 tablespoons of orange juice (1/2 of a large orange)

  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons of olive oil 

  • 3 cloves of garlic 

  • A pinch of ground cumin 

  • 1/4 cup of fresh parsley 

Directions

  • Put everything in a food processor and blend until very smooth. If you need it smoother just add a tablespoon or two of water.
