The “Alina” Cuban Rum Martini

A delicious play on a martini named after Fidel’s courageous rebellious daughter, Alina.

When Gio Gutierrez, of Chat Chow TV, stopped by our counter to talk all things End of Summer Dinner Party, he very kindly showed us how to make three cocktails. This Cuban Rum Martini, or the Alina as he calls it, was one of them.

Gio Guterrez, Chat Chow TV visits our Counter

This Cuban Rum Martini is a sophisticated play on the classic martini featuring rum and a little orange twist. If you like a classic martini, then this is definitely something you want to dry. It has the dry taste of a martini and the orange and apricot give it a great balance.

Gio named this martini after Fidel Castro’s estranged daughter, Alina. If you don’t know, Miami is a small town, and as it turned out, Alina and Gio met when they discovered they lived close by. They bonded over their affinity of a Cuba past, life in Miami, and their love for finding a good cocktail that is deeply seeded in our roots.

This cocktail is a must try!
