Sazon Seasoning Recipe

This Sazon Seasoning Recipe will help you make your very own Cuban seasoning right at home.

The seasoning you use, can make or break the recipe. One of our favorite things to do when we visit other cities is to check out the spice racks at the local markets. You can always find something new or tasty there. The more you cook, the more you begin to pick up on the subtlety that a spice can bring to a dish.

Over the years we have come to find that there is a certain combination of seasonings that we just can’t get enough of. The same handful of spices kept showing up. We decided early on that it would become our classic sazon seasoning.

Our Sazon is a blend of classic Cuban flavorings. Like most islands in the Caribbean there is of course paprika, oregano and cumin. Then we added it in with the garlic and onion powder and of course the kosher and flakey salt. The combination brings so much flavor and life to everything it touches.

We both use this Sazon Seasoning Recipe religiously. We use it constantly throughout the week on a variety of different things. It works perfectly on fish, chicken and pork. Throw it into a soup to bring flavor, or on vegetables as a finishing sprinkle. It’s simple, but delicious. Give it a try with: Fricase de Pollo, Arroz Con Pollo, Abuela’s Picadillo and so much more
