30 Minute Meals to the Rescue
Back in the early 2000s, Rachel Ray popularized the idea of “30 minute meals,” changing the way many of us approached cooking at home.
Simple, approachable recipes that didn’t require hours in the kitchen became the standard. This idea and concept is something we still rely on today. As working moms, with kids, families, and all that comes with it- why does dinner need to be overly complicated.
To make a 30 minute meal work, it’s all about having your ingredients ready and using your time wisely. Once you get into that rhythm, getting dinner on the table becomes a lot easier. Let’s jump in.

EASY SIDES FOR 30 MINUTE MEALS

When tackling a 30 minute meal, it’s important to talk about the timing of your sides. Most main dishes will give you a window of time when nothing is happening and that’s when you make the side dish. For example, once you put any of the sheet pan recipes into the oven you will have just enough time to make rice and a simple salad. However sometimes it may make sense to work with the side first. For example if you are making churrasco in the air fryer you would want to make your side such as creamy orzo before since the steak will be ready in less than 10 minutes.
The important thing to remember is to use your time wisely and then make every minute count.
Once you get comfortable cooking this way, it changes how you approach weeknight dinners.
Simple recipes, smart timing, and a few reliable go-to meals can make even the busiest nights feel manageable.
